2 Day Collagraph Course
Join experienced printmaker Sarah Godfrey for this exciting workshop exploring the collagraph printmaking technique.
A collagraph is essentially a collage of materials glued to a printing plate, to create a textured surface image, which then can be inked and printed on an etching press. Discover and gain an understanding of the process while having fun and learning from each other.

Photo Screenprinting on Fabric - Totes/T-shirts
Join this introductory course, learning the creative and enjoyable process of photo screen printing. This is aimed at beginners who would like to try out this process.
You will be taken step by step through coating a screen, exposing a single layer image with the exposure unit, developing it in the washout room and then printing with the image onto a tote bag.

Dry Point with Chine Colle
In this workshop, you will explore and develop your skills in intaglio drypoint printing.
Working with a Perspex plate, you will trace your own design and use specialised
intaglio tools to experiment applying a variety of mark-making techniques, exploring both line and tone.

Nature Monoprinting
Explore the exciting process of nature mono printing using natural materials such as flowers, leaves and ferns.
You will print both positive and negative impressions from your natural materials and you will explore colour mixing, shape, texture, layering and composition.
This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who want to further develop their
printmaking and composition skills.

Sticky Tape Collagraph
In this workshop we will be creating a printing plate by layering different types of sticky tape to the surface of mountcard. We will be using all types of tape, including sellotape, masking tape, parcel tape, framing tape, duck tape etc, these will be layered, scratched into, ripped, scrunched to build up a design.
This will be inked using both relief (surface) rolling and intaglio techniques. This is an exciting quick method of creating prints with contrasting textures. Discover and gain an understanding of the process while having fun and learning from each other.

Mini Woodblock Printmaking
This mini woodcut workshop explores traditional relief printing using carving tools on plywood. You'll design and carve your own woodblock, then add colour through a monoprint process

Intro to Photo Screenprinting
An introduction to photo screen printing, learn how to coat and expose a screen and print your own two layer design on paper.
This is aimed at beginners who would like to try out this process, as well as those who are refreshing their skills. It is perfect for printmakers who would like to become a member of Carousel Print Studio and use the screen printing facilities.
Joe McDonnell will show you how to create a colour fountain background then over print with a detailed photo layer.

Letterpress printmaking
The workshop will enable participants to typeset and print, using the Adana press and to make concertina books.
Basic letterpress printing will be explained in the context of fine art practice and the genre of artists’ books.


Kitchen Lithography
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the innovative technique of kitchen lithography to create a small edition of prints. Participants will learn the fundamentals of alternative lithography as they draw directly onto aluminum foil, etch their image with cola, and print their creations by hand.

Intaglio with Chine Colle
Participants will create a series of prints on paper using the same plate, developed with intglio dypoint with some collagraph, and chine colle. Led by experienced printmaker Joanna Allen, she will guide you through and introduce you to these printmaking techniques over the day course.

Come and make your own sketchbook, using traditional bookbinding techniques. We will fold, sew, cut and cover to produce a really useful little book, which will hopefully inspire you to draw/fill with ideas/bind more books!
Our experienced bookmaker and teacher Heather will guide you through the process, in the warm and fully equipped space at Carousel Print Studio.

Print Wooden Christmas Decorations
Using the professional quality equipment and materials at Carousel Print Studio, you will learn how to use our small lino printing press and leave with your own unique heirloom festive decorations.
This is an easy, fun short course suitable for total beginners. Book with a friend for a fun pre- Christmas treat.
Drawing skills are not necessary to enjoy this workshop, have fun layering pattern and colour for great decorative effects.
Drypoint Printing with found and recycled plastics
Plastic is everywhere, in this workshop we aim to re-use waste plastic to create drypoint printing plates and produce drypoint prints with a difference.

Mono Screen Printing- Full Day
This is a dynamic method of screen printing where marks and images are made directly onto on the screen. Suitable for beginners or those who would like to try a different method of screen printing.
