Mokuhanga Printmaking

Introduction to Mokuhanga, Japanese woodcut prints. Have you ever admired Japanese prints and wondered how they are made? Explore this old traditional water based non-toxic printmaking method in a one-day workshop. We will learn how to transfer an image onto a woodblock, carve and print your design using traditional tools and paper. We will be using only natural materials, water colour paint, soft shina woodblocks and hand held barren to press the image onto washi paper.
