In this course, you will make your own blocks small scale blocks from rubber or lino and use them to create repeat patterns on fabric and paper - from hangings, sample squares, handkerchiefs and scarves to postcards and cards - and add ink rubbings from textured surfaces to create your own unique designs.

About the Tutor
Joanna Veevers was born in Sheffield, grew up in Hathersage, and studied printed textiles at Manchester School of Art and Ceramics at the Royal College of Art. Her established practice crosses disciplines, making use of the drawn surface, print, ceramics and mixed media to explore ideas about accumulation and collection, memory, repetition and the creative process. She has taught for many years across short courses, workshops, learning projects and in higher education.
What will I need to bring?
All materials will be provided but if you have a particular plain cotton, linen or silk you would like to use please bring it with you.
Please bring suitable folder or bag to take work home in. Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. Aprons will be provided.
You may wish to bring a packed lunch. Teas, coffee and biscuits are provided.
