Cyanotype Printmaking

  • Carousel Print Studio Exchange Place Studio Sheffield S2 5TR United Kingdom (map)

Learn how to compose an image and expose it using sunlight in our introduction to cyanotype printmaking.

Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic processes, using sunlight to produce beautiful and delicate blue images. Although a simple process, it allows creates opportunities for artists to think and work in complex and experimental ways, and create images from found materials.

In this workshop you will learn about the exposure process and how to coat materials and tone your images.

Note: If the weather gods aren't on our side, we have a UV exposure unit as a backup to help to expose our images.
