Explore using intaglio methods of drypoint printmaking, with collagraph and chine colle.

During this workshop, you will experiment with mark making using intaglio tools to create designs on card plates, and incorporate elements of collagraph to add texture and depth. You will learn how to print your plate using chine colle - a process in which thin coloured paper is sandwiched between an inked up plate and the paper you are printing onto. Intaglio with chine colle can provide stunning, quick way of adding colour and texture to your art work.

This class is suitable for all abilities, including experienced printmakers looking to expand their skill set, and complete beginners.

Participants will create a series of prints on paper using your plate, developed with intglio dypoint, collagraph, and chine colle.

About the Tutor

Joanna Allen is an artist, printmaker and textile designer based in the High Peak, with a degree in Printed Textiles and a PGCE in Art & Design, both from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Joanna is a member of Peak District Artisans. As well as teaching in schools and running art classes, Joanna has been running her friendly collagraph print workshops for over 18 years.
