Experiment with bold graphics, layered images, and hands-on printmaking in with Pochoir - a striking stencil-based printing technique that combines paper-cut collage and expressive ink application.
Starting with simple paper-cut shapes, you will build your own collage compositions and develop bold imagery inspired by cutting, rearranging, and layering forms, patterns, symbols, or abstract shapes. These collages will become Pochoir stencils, allowing you to print your designs by hand. Through careful placement and thoughtful ink application, you’ll experiment with contrast, texture, and layering, discovering how colour and shape can transform an image.
This process is playful and experimental. You can keep building new layers, shifting shapes, and printing again to create images that feel graphic, energetic, and completely your own.
During the session you will:
Design cut-paper collage compositions
Turn your collages into Pochoir stencils
Experiment with ink, layering, and bold contrasts
Produce a striking set of unique hand-printed artworks
Have the skills to keep exploring Pochoir printing at home.
