Learn how to use linocut to create your own festive and seasonal designs to print onto cards. This is a relaxed and fun beginners course; drawing skills are not necessary to enjoy this workshop.
A variant of woodcut printmaking, linocut uses tools to carve into specialist printmaking lino, to create a relief line image, that is then inked up and printed.
Working from chosen source material or images, participants will draw and develop an original design, we will cover safe carving techniques and tool use and spend time carving out the Lino printing blocks.
Using the professional quality equipment and materials at Carousel Print Studio, students will produce single colour prints and learn how to develop their prints further using colour blending techniques. Participants will leave with their hand carved printing block and their own original cards.
We will also cover how to continue to produce linocut prints at home.
