In this one day course, learn the hands on process of reduction wood cut printmaking.

Using specialist hand tools you will carve a multi layered image from a single piece of Japanese plywood.

Our workshop leader will guide you through the carving, inking and printing process to create your own series of A5 prints.

This is a low tech, tactile and accessible process, suitable for beginners or those with some printing experience who would like to try something new.

Using some techniques from Japanese hand printing, subtle layers of colour are built up to create soft tones and shaded areas.
